Regional events often cover a wide range of activities and may be influenced by the particular culture within your area. They may range from more cultural events to business events and trade shows.

HOW TO FIND REGIONAL EVENTS IN YOUR AREA

There are many places where you can look for events that will be occurring in your area. You may use the search engines online or visit your local tourist office which should hold this information. In addition you may also visit the following websites to search for events or view their events calendar.

EVENTSLISTED.INFO

Eventslisted.info is a new social marketing website for events and a place where you can either promote your own event or search for events that have been listed by others.

CITY WEBSITES ARE A GREAT PLACE TO FIND REGIONAL EVENTS

If you are looking for events taking place in your city, or in a city that you will be visiting, then it is a good idea to have a look at the website for these cities – online tourist information centres; for example, the Kansas City Events Calendar can be used to find events in Kansas City.

WEBSITES COVERING A BROADER AREA

Some websites also have a more extensive events calendar, covering not only a specific city but the whole region or even country. One of these websites, for example, is the New Zealand Events Calendar where you can browse different events by category and will find events all over New Zealand.

REGIONAL EVENTS IN A SPECIFIC CATEGORY

Another possibility is to search for regional events calendars specifically related to a subject that interests you; for example, there is a regional events calendar for running in Ohio, a regional events calendar for weaving events, etc.

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FAIRS AND EXPOSITIONS

The International Association of Fairs and Expositions is a website that has an events calendar covering fairs and expositions in America and Canada, as well as trade shows.

FINDING REGIONAL EVENTS IN GOOGLE’S DIRECTORY

Google is the most popular search engine and so probably the first place that many people will go when searching for regional events. The best way to start if you are going to be using Google is to look in their directory under Regional and then follow the links until you get to events in the area you are looking for; for example, regional events in the United States may be found through Regional-North America-United States- Arts and Entertainment-Events. You may then also choose to narrow your search down by the type of events you are looking for.

FINDING REGIONAL EVENTS IN ONLINE AND OFFLINE NEWSPAPERS

Newspapers are another popular place to find regional events, whether this is in your print paper that you buy each day or whether it is searching on the websites of newspapers.

UNIVERSITY WEBSITES

University websites are also often a useful source on information about regional events, especially those that will be hosted by the university. For example, the Columbia University events calendar covers events that it is involved with, from music to conferences and other events.

Whether you are looking to promote a regional event or searching for regional events you should check out Eventslisted.com. This website takes events promotion to the next level with social marketing and also makes it more enjoyable to search for events in your area.
