LAKE TAHOE EVENTS – AN EVENT CALENDAR FOR LAKE TAHOE
Lake Tahoe starts the year in the snow and a number of Lake Tahoe events are related to snowboarding or other events in the snow; but in addition to this you will also find other festivals, games, arts events and more.
START THE YEAR IN THE SNOW WITH LAKE TAHOE EVENTS
Lake Tahoe starts its events calendar with the USASA Snowboard races. A number of races are held for amateur snowboarders with the winner being eligible for the national championships and there is also a slalom race and slopestyle race.
Other January events in the snow include the Sierra Stomp and Far West Open Slalom. If you love snow sporting events then Lake Tahoe is the place to be at this time of year.
MARDI GRAS
In February there is the Mardi Gras with Cajun food and music and other activities traditionally connected with a Mardi Gras.
CHEVY TRUCKS FAMILY FEST
Another one of the Lake Tahoe events taking place in February is the Chevy Trucks Family Fest where the whole family can come along for a day of fun and entertainment as well as a chance for those enthusiasts to view the latest Chevy trucks.
RACES IN LAKE TAHOE
If you are looking for more active, sporting events then you may want to join some of the races that are held in Lake Tahoe. This starts with the Valentines Sweetheart Race in February, the St Patrick’s Day Race in March, and Lake Tahoe Marathon.
In addition to the running races there are also hot air balloon races, air races, and the Tahoe Big Blue Adventure Race which includes mountain biking, kayaking and high rope.
BARTON HOSPITAL ANNUAL HEALTH FAIR
If you are serious about your health then you should attend the Barton Hospital Annual Health Fair towards the end of May. This fair has a number of health-related exhibits as well as speakers sharing about various different health topics.
WINE TASTING AND RESTAURANT FAIRE
For those who love their food and wine there is also a wine tasting and restaurant faire event in Lake Tahoe. During this Wine Tasting and Restaurant Faire a number of local restaurants and wineries get together to display their samples. They also have a silent auction, live music and more.
VALHALLA RENAISSANCE FAIR
If you are looking for a historical event in Lake Tahoe then you may enjoy the Valhalla Renaissance fair which takes you back to the late-1500s in England with peasants, merchants, lords and ladies all in costume.
KINGS BEACH FINE ARTS FESTIVAL
For those who appreciate the fine arts, you will probably want to attend the Kings Beach Fine Arts Festival in Lake Tahoe. This Lake Tahoe event displays a wide range of one-of-a-kind and limited art works in watercolour and oil painting, sculpture, glasswork, photography, home décor and more.
LAKE TAHOE MUSICAL EVENTS
The Lake Tahoe events calendar also includes a number of musical events such as the Lake Tahoe Musical Festival in July and the Thanksgiving Jazz festival in November.
The Lake Tahoe musical festival starts in July and extends into August. Outdoor concerts are held in various locations along the north shore. Musical performances include classical orchestra, bluegrass, jazz, country, pop and Broadway.
There are many Lake Tahoe events to suit most people’s taste and whether you are visiting Lake Tahoe for a little while or whether you are a Lake Tahoe resident it would be a good idea to learn more about these events and try to attend some.
