NASHVILLE EVENTS
Nashville may be the country’s music capital but there is a lot more to do than simply music events. Nashville events include something to suit everybody including music events, boat shows, antique shows and more.
NASHVILLE MUSIC EVENTS
The Nashville music events begin with the annual Country Showdown which is a musical talent search. In February each year there is the annual Bluegrass music awards and national convention and in March the Music Valley Antiques market. Either late in March or early in April each year there is the Tin Pan South Songwriters festival. There are also many other music events held in Nashville each year and it really is the place to be for all music lovers.
NASHVILLE CARS AND BOATS
Another Nashville event held in January each year is the Nashville Auto Fest where you can go to view collector’s vehicles. There is also a Boat Show in February where the latest and greatest boats are displayed.
NASHVILLE EVENTS FOR ANTIQUE LOVERS
If you love antiques and collectables then there are also a number of Nashville events you may want to attend. In the second week of February there is the “Heart of Country Antique Show” where over 150 antique dealers from all over America come together to display their wares.
There is also the Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville. This show offers about 150 booths on antiques and horticulture as well as landscaped gardens. This is also usually in the second week of February though it may vary.
Apart from these antique events there are also a number of other antique events in Nashville each year.
EASTER EVENTS FOR KIDS IN NASHVILLE
Around Easter there are a number of exciting events planned for kids in Nashville. These include the Victorian Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Bunny Excursion train, and Eggstravaganzoo.
In addition to these fun events for children there are also a number of events that may appeal to a more mature audience such as visiting the Upper Room Chapel where there is a woodcarving of the Last Super painted by Leonardo Da Vinci.
IROQUOIS STEEPLECHASE
The Iroquois Steeplechase is a horse racing event held in Nashville each year and also a place where women attending can show off their various fashions and aim to be the most stylish. An amount equal to the awards given each year is also donated to a charity such as the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
THE HYPERICON
The Hypericon is a Speculative Fiction Convention held annually in June and includes role-playing games, live action role playing, filmmaking panels, a room party competition, late night dances, art show and dealers’ room and more.
Apart from music events Nashville boasts many other events to appeal to a wide audience. More of these events can be found on Nashville.about.com.
