SAN ANTONIO EVENTS – EVENTS CALENDAR FOR GREATER SAN ANTONIO
From welcoming the New Year in with “Celebrate San Antonio!” to various Christmas celebrations towards the end of the year, there is plenty to do on the San Antonio events calendar.
CELEBRATE SAN ANTONIO
“Celebrate San Antonio” is the New Year’s Eve party to be at in San Antonio. This starts with fireworks on the evening of the 31st and then continues with live music, food booths and family activities extending into the 1st January.
RIVER WALK MUD FESTIVAL
The River Walk Mud Festival was started to celebrate the draining of San Antonio’s River Walk and includes a parade as well as the crowning of the Mud King and Mud Queen for the Mud Pie Ball. This event takes place in January.
SAN ANTONIO WINE FESTIVAL
In February the AlamoDome hosts the San Antonio Wine Festival that is the largest wine tasting and cuisine tasting event in this area. Local restaurants supply their wares and the silver and bronze winners from the San Antonio Express-News Wine Competition are also featured.
SAN ANTONIO STOCK SHOW AND RODEO
The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is a fun carnival and rodeo event held in February. Bring the whole family for a day of fun and excitement.
SEAWORLD SAN ANTONIO SEASON OPENER
In March the San Antonio SeaWorld puts on its annual splashy season opener with 25 great shows and other animal attractions. If you are looking for San Antonio events that love animals then this is the place to be.
FIESTA ARTS FAIR AND FIESTA SAN ANTONIO
The Fiesta Arts Fair kicks off Fiesta San Antonio. At the arts fair you will find over 100 artists , food, live entertainment and children’s activities. Fiesta San Antonio is a ten day festival that includes parades and a number of other festive activities.
SAN ANTONIO DANCE MONTH
May, in the San Antonio events calendar, is Dance Month and this means that various dancers will be performing at different locations throughout the city to celebrate the many different types of dances from ballet to tap, modern, improvisational and ethnic.
MUSIC FESTIVALS IN SAN ANTONIO
For the music lovers there are also a number of San Antonio events that will appeal to you. These music festivals include the Spring concert, Tejano Conjunto Festival, Cactus Pear Music Festival, and Concert Under the Stars.
SAN ANTONIO CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
At the end of the year it is time for all the Christmas celebrations. On the San Antonio events calendar these include Santa’s Holiday Depot, Kristkindlmarkt, Christmas along the Corridor, Fiestas Navidenas, and the Deutsche Weihnachtsfeier.
As you can see, San Antonio has plenty of events all year through and for a variety of different tastes and interests and these are just a few of the many San Antonio events.
